“¡El Espectáculo de la Decada!”
A live dance performance to celebrate Vulny Daddy, the sophomore album release from Matthew Roberta.
PREMIERE SHOWING
Saturday, May 28th 2022
Centro Nacional de las Artes
Teatro Raúl Flores Canelo
Mexico City, Mexico
About the Show
This live contemporary dance performance was created in collaboration with choreographer and dancer Daniela Vazquez, producer and dancer Catalina Navarrete, a core team of 8 Mexican performing artists, 7 extras, and multiple lighting artists and videographers.
A unique body of paintings was created by Matthew in support of this event, which debuted live throughout the performance, with gallery-style viewing to follow.
About the Album
Each unique movement will be performed sequentially to the mastered recordings of Vulny Daddy - an album written by Matthew Roberta (Matthew Anderson), produced by Drake Ritter, and contributed to by musical artists around the world.
This release follows the full length “What’s Your Worldview?” (released under the moniker Charles Arizona), and thematically transitions the artist out of a decade long struggle with his ideology, identity, and manners of self-medication into a new chapter of the same old shit with a lot more peace, acceptance, and true love for self and others.
To Host or Learn More
We’d love to bring Vulny Daddy to your theater, gallery, or festival. This piece is uniquely adaptable to fit smaller and more intimate settings or scale up to larger theater performances.
We also have a full, multi-angle video of the production (which debuted in the FRINGE festival) available for remote viewing with artist Q&A.
